Elias & Harman
March 10th – 13th, 2026
Our Story
It was the storm that brought us together in the heart of Albuquerque, on the University of New Mexico campus. Or maybe it was the rogue thunderclap, announcing the monsoon’s late afternoon arrival. The clap was low, quaking, and followed by the sudden familiar smell of desert rain approaching. As the rain eased up, Eli asked if he could walk with Harman “for a while.” That walk continued — all the way to Paris, France, where under a sky that could not have been clearer, a proposal was made and accepted. Our adventure together carries on.
You’ll usually find Eli with a coffee in one hand and a podcast cued up about something wildly specific—like the history of forgotten empires or classic basketball rivalries. He somehow knows everything about history and loves spending hours wandering museums, soaking it all in. Born in Oklahoma, he’s a proud OKC Thunder fan through and through and never misses a game.
Eli has a deep passion for music and an amazing ear, often getting lost for hours while composing beats. He’s always up for brunch, happily drowning his pancakes in syrup and practically dancing with excitement after the first bite—probably why he didn’t even blink when I added what felt like a pound of sugar to my mate tea on our first date. He’s a true foodie who also loves cooking, whether it’s making homemade pasta or trying out new recipes he’s recently discovered.
His immense dedication, strong work ethic, perseverance, and intellect have propelled him on his legal journey—from working at the UNM Law Clinic and the Public Defender’s Office to truly serving as a passionate advocate for justice. He never stops learning, always pushing himself to grow, all while keeping a sharp sense of humor that lightens even the toughest days.
Despite all this, Eli always stays effortlessly stylish, keeping up with the latest fashion trends and dressed to a T. Life with Eli is thoughtful, fun, and filled with laughter—I couldn’t imagine a better teammate for this next chapter. I’m beyond excited and grateful to have found him as my partner for life.
When Harman isn’t taking care of the sick as a PA in one of our state’s premier hospitals, she’s usually reading a mystery novel, curled up with a bowl of pomegranate seeds. If not that, she’s bound to be playing “hide and go seek” or “the floor is lava” with her two young nieces.
A Texan by birth, Harman grew up in Albuquerque and is New Mexico true. She loves her city deeply. She shops local, finds the best places to eat, and never misses the balloon fiesta.
She’s sharp, competitive, and quick to learn. She can pick up the rules to any board game in minutes and somehow beat the people who’ve been playing for years. She’s also the reason I started watching scary movies. I used to avoid them. Now I kind of love them—mostly because she’s right there next to me, whispering commentary and making it fun.
Harman is polite and humble, but never afraid to speak up when it matters. I remember once I left my phone on an international flight. She did what had to be done and marched us to the front of a long check-in line and got two staff members to walk back onto the plane and find it. They did. Another time, I dropped a dumbbell on my foot at the gym. She helped me limp all the way home, one slow step at a time.
She’s strong, steady, smart, fun, and beautiful. I feel lucky every day knowing she’s in my corner. I’ll always be in hers. We work together in all the right ways. And I know, whatever comes next, we’ll face it side by side.
